In light of Breast cancer awareness month, Prof. Dr. Cathrin Brisken talks about the effect of hormones in the development of breast cancer in the magazine Blick. Risk factors for hormone-sensitive breast cancers are increasingly being identified. Among these, Prof. Brisken discusses exposure to certain hormonal contraceptives, or exposure to bisphenol A, a chemical compound primarily used in the manufacturing of certain plastics.
