Bin Zheng received his PhD in Molecular Pathology from the University of California, San Diego (2002) and completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School (2010). He is currently an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Cutaneous Biology Research Center, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zheng’s research has focused on deciphering the molecular mechanisms of metabolic signaling and communication within skin cancers and to translate these basic research findings into personalized targeted and immune therapies. “Our recent discovery on the inhibitory effects of phenformin, a mitochondrial complex I inhibitor, on MDSCs has inspired us to systematically characterize metabolic vulnerabilities of MDSCs. We are currently interested in developing new strategies to target metabolism in cancer cells and immune cells for skin cancer prevention”.
