The field of Sexual Dimorphism in Cancer has seen significant advancements, with disparities in cancer incidence, survival rates, and treatment effectiveness being actively researched. The conference focuses on the impact of sex hormones and chromosomes on cancer susceptibility, with an emphasis on (epi)genetics, sex hormones, cancer cell biology, metabolism and the immune system.

Berna Özdemir, MD, PhD

Berna Özdemir received her MD in 2007 and her PhD degree in cancer biology from the University of Bern, Switzerland in 2012.

She completed her clinical training in medical oncology at Lausanne University Hospital. Her clinical focus is precision oncology, and immunotherapy. She investigates sex and gender differences in oncology, as well as the role of the androgen receptor in melanoma and other non-reproductive tissue tumors.

Berna Özdemir works as a senior physician in charge of melanoma and urogenital tumors at Bern University Hospital.
